Cheltenham Ladies' College for 13-18 Year

Cheltenham Ladies’ College has been at the forefront of girls’ education for over 160 years. Its heritage and global reputation were founded on its pioneering approach to girls’ education and the future aims are no less ambitious. Its GCSE, A Level and IB results are consistently excellent, leading to College being named both top girls boarding school in the country for IB and top independent school in the South West in 2016. Over the last five years, College has consistently won awards for academic excellence. College is passionate about the futures of our girls. Whilst their academic achievements are important, these must go hand-in-hand with co-curricular activities that interest and challenge them, a community that supports them, and the opportunities to pursue their passions and learn from their failures.

Many of our boarders will be leaving home for the first time and a number of them have families in other parts of the world. Our house system is structured to allow new boarders to settle in quickly, with older girls in a position to nurture younger pupils. This ensures that all girls have a home from home, where they feel included, appreciated and part of a close-knit community.

Whether you want to do some gentle exercise in friendly surroundings, lift heavy weights or play squash, we have something for everybody. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help you get the most out of your time here and achieve your fitness goals.

You’ll also have access to the pool, can use the sports hall for a game of five-a-side or basketball, or take part in exercise classes. On top of that, there’s also tennis and badminton, so you’ll be able to enjoy some social or competitive racquet action.
